Great Day at Work

October 24, 2007 at 1:08 pm

Today is what we call in the education industry call a in service day. It’s a day where we learn about things that we can use in our jobs. One of the sessions in which I am sitting in now is on Linux!

First she showed a snippet video of Revolution OS. Then talked about Moodle course ware. Then Free Geek Columbus.

What makes that great is that the room was PACKED. One could say that it was that way because they had to find some session to go to, but I had the general feeling from almost everyone in the room that they wanted to try it! They liked the idea of being FREE from Microsoft’s shenanigans.

So, go get you the Gutsy Gibbon iso and drink the Open Source Koolaid!

UPDATE:

Almost forgot….everyone was sent home with a Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Live CD.  They all got to boot it on a PC in the lab as well and play around with it.
