Nokia N800

It’s been on Engadget,Thoughtfix, and starts out on Ring Nokia but it appears that Nokia is ready to ship and probably announce at CES the second Internet Tablet, the Nokia N800. It’s part of the N series of phones now apparantly, but as far as I know, there’s no Cell radio in it. What is there? Well according to Thoughtfix and FCC documents it will have:

  • 640×480 Web Cam (pops out even!)
  • 802.11G and Bluetooth
  • 2 MiniSD slots. One internal, one on the outside.
  • Maemo Linux of course
  • and???

I hope they have a faster processor and possibly more RAM. It looks like the same LCD that the 770 has but I hope it’s better. Also, and I can’t verify this, but I did a quick search for Nokia N800 and the only post I saw was a ad on a cellphone blog saying you can get it for $200?? I hope so! That would SO ROCK!

Anyway I am excited about this and I will start saving pennies for this thing. If it’s as good as the Nokia 770 is, it’s a winner. Oh and I should post a full review with pics of my 770 at some point I guess. I’ll work on that later!

UPDATE: According to a commentor on Ring Nokia, the N800 is available at some CompUSA’s already for $399. Apparantly, someone jumped the gun. That tells me you can’t depend on 5-10 dollar an hour employees…..thier mistake is our benefit!
