Lastnight I Started my Life with CPAP
Well, I got the results of my 2 sleep studies. The first one showed I stopped breathing 11 times in one hour. My oxygen level also dropped to 86%. It should be 90%. So the doc set me up with a CPAP machine.
For those who don’t know, CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. The long and short of it is you have this mask or a set of what they call pillows (what I use) that are in your nose and will blow air into your nose as you breath to keep the airway open. The upside is you don’t snore and you will feel better once you get some sleep. The downside is you have this thing on your nose and it has various straps going around your head. It will take some getting used to.
My first night with my Vigor8 CPAP machine went OK. I did not get much sleep due to my constantly having to pee last night. I think I am going to take my meds a bit early. Diovan HCT is my blood pressure medicine and there’s a diuretic component to it which makes me have to pee. ALOT! So I am going to start taking it around 8 oclock so I can do all my peeing before 11 oclock!
Anyway, I hope with CPAP and my losing weight that I may get OFF the Diovan HCT. I am down around 304 and that’s the lowest I have weighed in years!

MRI Today and a Resusitated iPod…crossing fingers
Hey everyone. My MRI is in a few hours. I am already into my fasting stage. I am not allowed anything but water. Oh well. To top it all, I was watching a moive on my iPod and everything was working fine. I did drift off to sleep and the iPod sort of lost it’s marbles. I fiddled with it for a while and managed to get it in disk mode AND get it mounted on my Mac. I restored to factory settings and it’s now syncing all of my stuff back over. I know Patrick Davila from the tech show doesn’t like Apple anything and Dann’s not too keen on them anymore either, I love my iPods. I have a first gen 1 Gig Shuffle and a 5th G (not the 5.5) Video iPod and this is the one that was acting kooky. I hope that this restore fixes it. I do not want to go without a iPod ever. I’d even sell my Nokia 770 as I love the whole interaction that iTunes and the iPod has. It works for me, and ultimately, this is why I got them. I got to start saving up for a new one. Thankfully it’s alot cheaper then when I got either iPod.

Just had my Physical….when was yours??
Just for the people who read this blog (all two of you) I wanted to share my experience at the Doctor’s office this week.
I have to say right now, I am a large guy. I have battled with weight all my life and I have tried going to the gym multiple times. Well, now I have to finally kick my weight in the proverbial ass. During the physical, my BP was 150/90 and they prescribed blood pressure medicine. This kind of freaked me the hell out, but I knew something like this was coming.
My goal now is to get off of these meds this year if at all possible and to lose weight.
Another goal of mine is to let my readers, and listeners know that if you have not gotten into the habit of getting a yearly physical that you should do this. These things usually affect you the rest for your life, but with careful diet and weight loss, you can get rid of it or at least the requirement that you take medicine.
