New Device Review I Will be Working On.
I am going to be reviewing a laptop for ZaReason.com. It’s their UltraLapSR. It’s a 13.3 inch laptop with a Core 2 Duo. That’s not unique. What’s really unique is the fact that this laptop as well as all other machines ZaReason sells all run Linux. In fact, none of them have the standard stickers from Microsoft. Even the super key has a Ubuntu logo on it vs a Windows logo. Be looking for the review at Gear Diary.

Testing!
I discovered Drivel today. It makes it super easy to make blog posts when the bandwidth is at a premium.
How did I find it?? I just was browsing through synaptic and found it. Pretty sweet.

RIP Netscape…..Long Live Netscape.
Back in 1995, Netscape Navigator was the browser of choice. Everyone used it. It was one of the first web browsers that supported javascript as well as inline images. Everyone used it. It was the internet in the mid 90’s. Well, thanks to Microsoft it’s gone.
Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols wrote a excellent article for eWeek that outlines it’s history.
I say, the spirit of Netscape lives on today in Mozilla Firefox. In fact, Mozilla had it’s roots at Netscape first. Firefox is now gaining strength over Internet Explorer and it’s now my default browser on ANY OS.
For as much as I live in the browser, it’s funny that there’s only one company that has it’s business solely based on it’s browser. That would be Opera. And even Opera is free with the company relying on it’s mobile phone browser to make it money.
Anyway, RIP Netscape…..the Firefox has already risen out of it’s ashes.
