Wakened by gurgles….

Let me tell you one thing about CPAP….you have to keep your mouth shut.  Most nights I wake up and I have my mouth hanging open and air rushing out of my mouth thanks to the CPAP pressure being wasted.

Normally, the Dr.  will give you a chin strap and that is supposed to stop you from opening your mouth, however these don’t always work.  Which is why others try and try to NOT go to a full face mask by doing the weird…..taping your mouth shut.  Yes, people do this practice.  Most doctors would never condone this procedure.  I have also heard of others using Poligrip strips on their lips to hold the mouth shut.  Anything to avoid a full face mask.

Anyway, I need to try thr strap first and I would also be willing to try a full face or hybrid mask.  Resmed is supposed to be releasing a excellent hybrid mask and I hope the Dr. gets that mask because I will try it.

I will also be asking the Dr. if there’s anyway possible that I might be able to avoid CPAP altogether.  I will definitely push to get regular sleep studies as I lose weight to see if the weight loss reduces the apnea.

Anyway, I hope this thing starts to work.  I still don’ t feel like I am getting the best sleep.

Crazy STUPID Windows VPN Conflageration

Why Why WHY can’t you just TELL me that you can’t communicate with the server rather then give me Error 721??

Go figure that my port triggering I setup in the router was the culprit.  All this because my wife’s stupid company sent a alert about her password expiring to the WRONG email address!  Also, you can’t FIX your signon without being able to SIGN IN to the VPN.  EVEN DUMBER!

BASTARDS…..

Lastnight I Started my Life with CPAP

Well, I got the results of my 2 sleep studies. The first one showed I stopped breathing 11 times in one hour. My oxygen level also dropped to 86%. It should be 90%. So the doc set me up with a CPAP machine.

For those who don’t know, CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. The long and short of it is you have this mask or a set of what they call pillows (what I use) that are in your nose and will blow air into your nose as you breath to keep the airway open. The upside is you don’t snore and you will feel better once you get some sleep. The downside is you have this thing on your nose and it has various straps going around your head. It will take some getting used to.

My first night with my Vigor8 CPAP machine went OK. I did not get much sleep due to my constantly having to pee last night. I think I am going to take my meds a bit early. Diovan HCT is my blood pressure medicine and there’s a diuretic component to it which makes me have to pee. ALOT! So I am going to start taking it around 8 oclock so I can do all my peeing before 11 oclock!

Anyway, I hope with CPAP and my losing weight that I may get OFF the Diovan HCT.  I am down around 304 and that’s the lowest I have weighed in years!

Ye flippin gods!

It’s May and I have not posted anything yet????  Wow.

Anyway, usually I would be all excited about the Dayton Hamvention, but this year I have no plans to go.  There’s no money and I have no time to get there.  One of these years I will head back out there.  It’s a really cool hamfest, but I just don’t have the time.

Cedarwood Alternative’s camp is next week with our days being Monday and Tuesday.  I am, as always, looking forward to going.  Last year it was really fun, but wet.  So far it looks like we may have a great year with NO RAIN!  YAH!

Anyway, I am going to record some audio for the Life in Ohio podcast tonight and I should get something posted on it’s feed tomorrow.

Happy May!
